A New York for All of Us

It’s time we come together to redefine what’s possible. To imagine a city that prioritizes working families, the environment, and our most vulnerable.

Let’s build a New York for all of us.

Rodrigo has spent over a decade organizing for social justice. He has taken on Brooklyn’s political establishment, fought to protect Sunset Park’s residents from displacement, and challenged the Mayor’s plans to raise the rent on rent-stabilized tenants across New York City.

Small Business Champion

Rodrigo is a proven leader who helped businesses get back on their feet after Superstorm Sandy and created citywide programs to support New York’s women, workers, and immigrant entrepreneurs. As a former New York City employee, and member of Brooklyn’s Community Board 7, Rodrigo knows how to use government to get big things done.

Our Fight

NYC: Unjust by Design

Economic uncertainty and the COVID-19 crisis have all disproportionately impacted New York’s communities of color, immigrants, and working poor. This is by design.

For decades, our politicians have let private interests dictate decisions around land use, education, healthcare, and criminal justice, at the expense of communities of color and working families. Rodrigo is ready to use his lifetime of experience as an immigrant advocate, community organizer, and civic leader to help create a fairer city for all New Yorkers.

With unemployment, rent, and police brutality threatening the safety of thousands, we need radical action to reverse decades of failed leadership… and we need it now

Our Community: The 38th Council District

The 38th City Council District includes the neighborhoods of Sunset Park, Red Hook, Greenwood Heights, and portions of Borough Park, Dyker Heights, and Windsor Terrace. This diverse part of Brooklyn reflects the best of New York City and the working-class and immigrant communities that make our city what it is.

From the Red Hook Houses to Brooklyn’s Chinatown and La Quinta Avenida, the 38th Council District is a melting pot of cultures and communities representing every walk of life.

“I’m running to represent the 38th Council District because I love this community and know the power of its people.

I believe that radical structural change is not only necessary, but possible, and that together we can:

  • Guarantee housing

  • End food insecurity

  • Build worker power

  • Expand immigrant rights

  • Achieve educational equity

  • Fight for environmental justice

and build a New York for all of us.”
